Preserving a Piece of Old Napa

Hidden behind a tall, white water tower is Napa’s hidden, and newest, event venue, Talahusi.  Three and one-half acres of private space are surrounded by hundreds of acres of vineyard, majestic old oak trees and a pond fed by Milliken Creek.

Coming down the driveway, the 24′ x 52′ infinity edge pool pulls your glance over the vineyards and towards the Mayacamas mountains.  In the evening, the setting sun casts its ombre of colors into the pool and across the field of native wildflowers and grasses.  An outdoor grill and a bocce ball court flank the pool, as do winding paths laid out with olive trees and flowering bushes.  The scent of lavender fills the air and a fountain created by renowned Mexican artist, Sergio Bustamante, sounds softly.

The large vegetable garden and orchard offers visitors a taste of Talahusi… literally. You are welcome to pick the produce, which, depending on the time of year, may include strawberries, tomatoes, squashes, onions, apples, pears, citrus fruit, pomegranates, persimmons, summer berries and various herbs.

Further down, facing the pond, is a patio with bistro lighting (seats 100) and a large grass area (seats 200).  A golden pathway leads to the edge of the property and to the pond; a large grass area overlooking the lake is also available for events.

A sweet cottage is the perfect place for a newlywed couple to spend the night.  Another large room plays multiple roles as a conference retreat, an indoor dining room, and a groomsmen’s facility complete with steam and sauna rooms and a whiskey bar.
The main house invites you to settle into the back porch, perfect for wine sipping as you listen to the birds chirping as they retire along with the sun.  The first floor, consisting of a large kitchen, dining room, living room (with a log burning fireplace) and an  ensuite guest bedroom is available to bridal parties and other events.

The remainder of the house is also available for events and film and photo shoot locations. The second floor holds a second ensuite guest room and the master bedroom, also with a fireplace.  Downstairs in the basement, a huge TV and a billard table provide relaxed and cozy entertainment.

Even with these buildings, the power of Talahusi remains in its land. With its mature oak and olive trees, organic farming, and native plantings, Talahusi reflects our commitment to preserving this piece of Old Napa.

Come visit Talahusi and experience the natural beauty of this ancient valley.
